Wilfried Zaha was among the scorers as African Nations Cup holders Ivory Coast dominated Uganda in a 3-0 win, although goalkeeper Denis Onyango was not to blame.
Onyango, who was recently named African Player of the Year - Based in Africa, started the friendly match but had already been replaced in goal at half-time by Robert Odongokara before the Elephants started the rout.
Ivory Coast looked sharp in their last warm-up game before they begin the defence of their AFCON title next week.
Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia opened the scoring five minutes into the second half at Abu Dhabi with a back-post header provided by Zaha’s cross and the Crystal Palace winger added a second eight minutes later as he beat the offside trap to fire in from the right.
It was his first goal in his second cap for the Ivorians since switching his international allegiance from England.
The Ivorians wrapped up victory with a third goal from Paris St Germain full-back Serge Aurier in the 72nd minute. He powered home a header from some distance out.
Eric Bailly, who had restricted training in Abu Dhabi this week because of a knee complaint, started the game but Sunderland defender Lamine Kone missed out as he battles to be fit in time for the Ivory Coast’s first game of the finals on Monday against Togo in Oyem.
Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s Uganda side have an opening game in Group D on Tuesday against Ghana in Port Gentil.
