Stanley Menzo knows Ajax Cape Town are not out of the woods yet

Posted: 11 January 2017 Time: 15:28

Good form heading into the mid-season break was not enough to satisfy Ajax Cape Town coach Stanley Menzo who is demanding even more from his charges.

The Urban Warriors picked up five wins in their last six games to leave themselves in ninth position on the table prior to the start of the Absa Premiership hiatus.

Despite residing just outside the top-half of the table the Dutch mentor acknowledges that his side are far from being safe.

“We are still trying to get out of that area [on the table] we are in‚ still we are not safe‚” Menzo told the club's official website.

“We have to improve if we want to stay safe. If there is one mentality I try to get out of these players it’s ‘don’t be satisfied with what you have‚ try to get more out of it.'

“If we want to go higher up in the league‚ there is still a lot of work to do for me‚ for the whole team‚ for the whole club.

Menzo also went on to reveal that Ajax could potentially be on the look out for players this transfer window.

“The club maybe needs some players who can help us at certain positions‚ so there is still a lot of work to do. We have to look at what we can find and what we can bring in," he said.

The Urban Warriors get their campaign back under way with a trip to the Bidvest Stadium to face Bidvest Wits on February 7.
