Jabulani Shongwe set for crunch talks with Bidvest Wits

Posted: 11 January 2017 Time: 11:01

Midfielder Jabulani Shongwe will find out later this week if he still has a future at Bidvest Wits, who are expected to offload him.

Shongwe has seen very little game-time this season at the MTN8 winners and is unsure of his future at Sturrock Park.

The signing of Granwald Scott and arrival of the left-sided Bokang Thlone at the end of the season is further indication that Shongwe is no longer in Gavin Hunt’s plans.

“Yes, I’m aware that the club has brought in new players already,” says his agent Jazzman Mahlakgane.

“But I haven’t spoken to the club yet as you know that they’ve just re-opened on Monday. But I will meet them later this week to discuss the player’s future.”

Shongwe has been linked with a move to either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates.

KickOff.com understands that Wits were ready to send Shongwe to Pirates during the last transfer window but a swap deal for Thandani Nthumayelo fell through when the latter was busted for cocaine.
