Free State Stars back in training and looking to remain clear of drop zone

Free State Stars have returned to training and begun preparing for the resumption of Absa Premiership action and a date with Kaizer Chiefs early next month.
Under the tutelage of Italian mentor Giovanni Solinas it appears that Ea Lla Koto began to turn the corner heading into the mid-season break.
The Bethlehem-based side will be hoping the momentum from last year - they picked up three wins from the five games preceding the break - will not have been disrupted too much.
That positive run of form lifted the club clear of the drop zone and they will be intent on remaining out of danger as the season wears on although the unavailability of some key playing personnel remains a concern.
Stars still have to contend with long term injuries to captain Paulus Masehe, Tholang Lwana, Sinethemba Jantjie and Chris Mafoumbi according to the club website.
Thokozani Sekotlong is also among those in the treatment room after sustaining a knee injury during Stars' final game of 2016 when they defeated Cape Town City whilst midfielder Charles Kampi will be monitored over the coming days following a knock to his ankle today at training.
The Glamour Boys lie in wait for Stars at the FNB Stadium when the league gets back up and running on February 7.
