Chippa United have exercised a one-year option on the contract of striker Lerato Manzini.
Manzini initially joined Chippa on a two-year deal with a one-year option in July 2015 following his exit from Bloemfontein Celtic.
The Chilli Boys have since extended Manzini's stay in Port Elizabeth.
His agent Lizwe Mthethwa, of Aftersec Sports Group, says further talks with the club are scheduled for the end of the season.
"Chippa United have just exercised the one-year option on Lerato Manzini," Mthethwa tells KickOff.com.
"His contract was ending at the end of this season. It had a one-year option and the club exercised that one-year option today. But we will go back to the tables for discussions at the end of the season, because this one-year option that was exercised was the only one that was left but both sides are happy.
"Having said that, I’m happy that he’s focused at Chippa United. I felt at the beginning he needed a chance because if you remember when he was at Celtic under Clinton Larsen he was performing well."
Manzini has scored three goals and provided one assist in five league starts and four substitute appearances this season.
The 26-year-old was Chippa's leading marksman with seven goals last term as the club finished in the PSL top eight for the first time in their history.
Manzini's namesake Rhulani and Thami Sangweni also recently committed themselves to Dan Malesela’s side.
The Chilli Boys, who are 11th on the table with 16 points from 14 games, will resume their campaign against basement dwellers Baroka FC on February 8 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
