The coach of Dutch side FC Twente does not believe key midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo is trying to force a move from the club.
Mokotjo has been absent from the team’s training camp in Spain this week after reportedly losing his travel documents, and Twente coach Rene Hake admits he does not know when he will return to the squad.
But he does not believe it is a ruse from the player to force a move away from the team in this transfer window.
“I have such a relationship with him that I am convinced that he is not going to force a departure in this way,” Hake told reporters. “There is no signal that reaches us that something is going on.
“Kamo is one of our key players and we want him to be here this week as soon as possible, with the good feeling of being all together picking up again. He plays an important role.”
Twente will resume their Dutch league season away at Vitesse on January 15.
