Highlands hone in on Free State Stars striker Moeketsi Sekola

KickOff.com has learnt that Highlands Park have set their sights on signing striker Moeketsi Sekola from Free State Stars.

Highlands, who are awaiting the return of recovering hitman Collins Mbesuma, are looking to strengthen their options as they sit in the relegation zone midway through the season.

And according to a source close to Sekola, the former PSL top scorer has met with Highlands officials to discuss a prospective move. 

"The deal could go on now during this transfer window period or at the end of the season," says the source.

Sekola shot to prominence when he won the Golden Boot in 2014/15 with 14 league goals.

However, the 27-year-old's career has since lost momentum with injuries affecting him last term.

Sekola has netted once and provided two assists this campaign, making 14 starts in the Absa Premiership.
