The Glo-CAF Team of the Year has been confirmed and as expected Mamelodi Sundowns have a strong presence in Africa's Finest XI.
Five African-based players made the grade with Masandawana trio of Keagan Dolly, Khama Billiat and Denis Onyango included alongside Rainford Kalaba of Zambia and Joyce Lomalisa of DR Congo.
The remaining six places are occupied by a veritable who's who of overseas-based stars with three in the form of Eric Bailly, Sadio Mane and Riyad Mahrez currently competing in the English Premier League.
The inclusion of Dolly is a major feather in his cap with a South African never before featured in the best eleven since the inception of the Team of the Year award back in 2005 although Kermit Erasmus was named amongst the substitutes last year.
The Ivory Coast is the only country to have more than one representative in the team with defensive pair Serge Aurier and Eric Bailly making the cut.
With the CAF Goalkeeper of the Year award defunct since 2008, Onyango's inclusion in the team is effectively an acknowledgement that he is the best goalkeeper in Africa for the year 2016.
