Glasgow Celtic door closing on Thulani Serero?

Thulani Serero’s hopes of joining Scottish side Glasgow Celtic may have to be shelved after the club agreed to a £2.8-million (R50-million) fee to sign Ivory Coast teenager Kouassi Eboue on Wednesday.
Celtic are hoping to bring in the 19-year-old from Russian top-flight side Krasnodar and as he plays in the same position as Serero, a move for both seems unlikely.
The move follows similar-style deals for the likes of Kenyan Victor Wanyama and French striker Moussa Dembele.
Celtic signed Wanyama for £1-million (R18-million) and sold him for 12 times that a few seasons later, while Dembele joined for £500,000 (R9-million) and is now rated at 40 times that figure.
Serero, although he would be cheap, is 27 in April and does not fall into that same bracket.
Celtic have won 19 of their 20 Scottish Premier League matches this season, drawing the other and are all ready virtually assured of collecting another league title this season.
Serero has also recently been linked with English Championship side Reading and French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux.
