Mike Makaab eases Ghana and Orlando Pirates defender Edwin Gyimah car crash concerns

Posted: 30 December 2016 Time: 09:22

Prosport International CEO Mike Makaab has eased concerns surrounding his client Edwin Gyimah, who was involved in a car crash earlier this week in Obuasi, Ghana.

Gyimah sustained cuts when the vehicle he was in reportedly collided with a taxi on Boxing Day, but Makaab understands the Orlando Pirates defender's participation at the Africa Cup of Nations has not been left in jeopardy.

Makaab, however, pointed out he is yet to talk directly to the Black Stars international.

"He’s fine, he’s fine. As I understand he’s part of the AFCON squad that Ghana have selected. But I must say that I haven’t been able to talk to him direct," Makaab tells KickOff.com.

"But reports say that he had cuts and bruises but nothing serious. And the report I’ve heard, they said he’s still part of the squad."

The 2017 Nations Cup is taking place in Gabon from January 14 to February 5.
