SuperSport United midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane is enjoying the club's position at the top of the standings heading into the festive break.
'Yeye' has been in fine form for Matsatsantsa since his off-season signing from Kaizer Chiefs, reiterating his value with a man-of-the-match display in the 2-1 win over Polokwane City at Lucas Moripe Stadium last night
The result ensured United finish 2016 at the Absa Premiership summit, albeit on goal difference as Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City also have 25 points, while Chiefs are a point off the pace at the half-way stage of the campaign.
"It's a good feeling that we won and got three points, and we are sitting at the top of the table," Letsholonyane told SuperSport TV.
"We fought well as a team but didn't play as well as we wanted to. Once more we conceded a goal in a critical phase. It is something we work on in training and the coach is telling us about every game.
"But at half-time obviously we sorted out things, went back to our shape, be patient, try to play a few touches and yeah, we got a goal and scored another one."
Letsholonyane has faith the Tshwane giants will raise their game when they return to league action in February.
"There is room for improvement. We did well in the first half of the season but we still need to improve other parts of our game, and I think 2017 will give us an opportunity to improve on those things."
