Highlands Park hitman Collins Mbesuma to resume training in the new year

Posted: 20 December 2016 Time: 11:45

Highlands Park striker Collins Mbesuma will resume training upon the resumption of domestic football in the new year after undergoing minor knee surgery.

Mbesuma has been complaining of a nagging knee discomfort which he has now taken the decision to fix ahead of the long mid-season break which will stretch up to seven weeks.

The Zambian is expected to be back in full training upon resumption of football in February.

Having been the leading man for Highlands so far he will again be relied upon for goals which the club will hope keeps them in the PSL at the end of the season.

The veteran forward remains the only footballer still playing in the PSL to surpass a century of goals in domestic football as he currently stands on 101 goals.

Mbesuma's Lions of the North will be in action tonight when they welcome Platinum Stars to the Makhulong Stadium for an Absa Premiership meeting (19h30).
