Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane can’t wait to field new signing Jose Garcia

Posted: 19 December 2016 Time: 20:29

Baroka coach Kgoloko Thobejane says people must expect fireworks in February when the club's new signee Jose Garcia becomes eligible to play for the club.

Joining from Highlands Park, Garcia is the first signing made by Thobejane for the January transfer window.

"He is a real player that one, he can play for Baroka. He is our type of player," Thobejane tells

"Baroka needs real players. Come February, you must expect fireworks.  I liked the boy since our NFD days - every time he had the ball at his feet, I suffered stomach cramps."

Thobejane says it’s unfortunate that his new find will not be eligible to play against African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Thursday at Peter Mokaba stadium.

"It's unfortunate that I cannot play him against Sundowns because he has already featured for another PSL team this season. I can only play him in February, and if it wasn't for that I would have fielded him in our previous game against Golden Arrows."

Kick-off against Downs on Thursday at Peter Mokaba Stadium is set for 18:00.
