Chippa United defender Paseka Mako is determined to help his team bounce back against struggling Highlands Park in Mdantsane today.
Chippa are smarting from a 1-0 loss to Polokwane City in midweek, with Mako eager to post a response when the action kicks off at 15h30 at Sisa Dukashe Stadium.
“We have to bounce back, no doubt,” Mako told his club's website.
“It’s important that we start winning games and climb the log table.
“The league is tough this season and we do not want to be where we are on the log [10th],” said Mako, who has been deployed at left-back by coach Dan Malesela in the absence of the injured Marc van Heerden.
Mako wants the Chilli Boys faithful to enter the festive break in positive spirits. After their last home game this afternoon they will end 2016 against Ajax Cape Town in the Mother City on December 21.
“I believe a win will be a perfect early Christmas present to them and we must do all it takes to win the game.
“We have moved on from the midweek defeat away in Polokwane. We must correct our mistakes and work harder.
“Each and everyone given a nod tomorrow [today] must play above themselves to give people of this province and our supporters something to cheer about at what is the last home game for the year.”
