KickOff.com has picked up that Orlando Pirates defender Nkosinathi Mthiyane is facing the possibility of going out on loan when the transfer window reopens in January.
Mthiyane has struggled to break into the first team at Pirates, since arriving as a surprise signing at the beginning of the season from Chippa United, with injury worries also contributing to his battles.
With the mid-season transfer window approaching, and the 28 year-old having made little progress at Bucs, a move away from the club is on the cards.
There have been whispers of interest from promotion-chasing Thanda Royal Zulu, who are coached by Roger Sikhakhane – a man that has been influential in Mthiyane’s career.
That move, however, is all dependant on whether Mthiyane would be keen on moving a step down to the National First Division.
Struggling basement club Baroka have also been mentioned as a possibilie destination for the former AmaZulu full-back.
Mthiyane is yet to break into the team this season the Mayfair outfit, and falls way down the pecking order at left-back, where Thabo Matlaba and Patrick Phungwayo are considered first and second choice, while Ayanda Gcaba can also slot into the same position.
The Kwa-Zulu Natal-born left-footer, though, can also play at left-wing, where Luvuyo Memela remains the only natural left-footed player vying for that position.
