Bantu Mzwakali hails Stanley Menzo’s impact at Ajax Cape Town

Ajax Cape Town attacker Bantu Mzwakali has hailed the approach and impact of new Dutch coach Stanley Menzo.

Menzo was brought in to replace Roger de Sa, and has lead the Urban Warriors to three successive victories as they look to put their early season woes behind them.

Mzwakali says the experienced Dutchman has rewarded hard work, with his impact on the team plain to see.

“I think our coach has really worked hard in changing our fortunes because he rewards hard work,” Mzwakali is quoted as saying on his club’s website.

“We are working hard and that is clear to everyone because we wanted to move away from the bottom through hard work.

“The three wins (over Mamelodi Sundowns, Platinum Stars and Golden Arrows) we managed to bag are a result of hard work.

“Thanks to the coach for giving all the players a chance and that has created a healthy competition in the team.”

Next up for Ajax is an away trip to second-from-bottom Highlands Park on Wednesday evening, with a tough clash expected at Makhulong Stadium.

“It is not going to be easy to face Highlands at home,” Mzwakali said. “They have an advantage, but we also want to win at all costs.”

Kick-off is set for 19:30.
