Chippa United have received a major boost ahead of their trip to Polokwane City with the return of attacking duo Menzi Masuku and Katlego Mashego.
Masuku and Mashego have travelled for this tie being played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening (19h30).
Masuku has been out of action for the past four weeks with a hip strain, while Mashego missed the win over Kaizer Chiefs 10 days ago due to an adductor muscle injury.
Luthando Zibeko, the head of marketing and communications at the club, confirms that the pair returned to full training this week ahead of a game that they will be keen to win.
“The Polokwane one is important for us and if you look at their position (fourth) on the league standings it shows that they are a difficult team to play,” Zibeko tells KickOff.com.
Meanwhile, Chippa have confirmed that their game against Highlands Park on Saturday (15h30) will be played at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London instead of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
The stadium, located in the township of Mdantsane, has recently undergone an uplift that has seen it meet the PSL standards.
During the first weekend of this month the venue hosted MultiChoice Diski Challenge matches.
“Tickets are already selling for R60 for adults and R20 for children under the age of 12. It is a historic moment for to play at that venue which has been revamped. This is for the people of Mdantsane to enjoy PSL football and part of our brand extension strategy to take Chippa to the people. We are also grateful to the Buffalo City Municipality for making this possible,” explains Zibeko.
Sisa Dukashe was used as an alternative home ground by Bush Bucks over a decade ago.
