Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba outcome of disciplinary hearing this week - SAFA

Posted: 13 December 2016 Time: 10:53

SAFA are edging slowly closer to an outcome of the disciplinary hearing for Bafana Bafana head coach Shakes Mashaba.

Mashaba was indefinitely suspended from his coaching duties on November 13 following a tirade aimed at the SAFA hierachy after Bafana's 2-1 win over Senegal in World Cup qualifying.

It has been quiet for a month since SAFA first announced disciplinary steps against Mashaba. The national team coach’s hearing with the SAFA Disciplinary Committee has been postponed twice already after the coach requested more time to prepare his case.

KickOff.com contacted the governing body’s communications officer Dominic Chimhavi for an update.

“There are hearings every day between the parties on this issue. We should have something by the end of the week,” Chimhavi says.

“We will release a statement via our official channels at the appropriate time, but there are processes that need to be followed before I can do that.”

Various coaches have been linked with the Bafana job as it is expected SAFA will relieve Mashaba of his duties, however, as of today he remains the coach and presumably has a strong case to argue.
