Just 144 days after their formation, Cape Town City earned their first-ever piece of silverware following a 2-1 victory over SuperSport United in the 2016 Telkom Knockout Final.

City opened the scoring at Peter Mokaba Stadium through Aubrey Ngoma, yet after Kingston Nkhatha’s 71st minute leveller, it was Judas Moseamedi who was the hero for the Citizens, stooping low to head home just two minutes later and score the goal that ultimately claimed the R4-million prize.
