SuperSport coach Stuart Baxter doesn't regret playing Jeremy Brockie against Cape Town City in Telkom Knockout final

SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter says he does not regret fielding injured striker Jeremy Brockie in the Telkom Knockout final on Saturday.

Brockie played with a ruptured ligament as SuperSport lost 2-1 to new franchise Cape Town City at Mbombela Stadium.

The New Zealander, who was substituted in the 59th minute, missed his team's previous match last week with Bloemfontein Celtic after sustaining the knock in the TKO semi-final win over Orlando Pirates.

Baxter, however, feels he made the right decision to recall Brockie.

"I think going to a cup final I would do the same again," says Baxter. "He is a goal scorer and we missed his presence in Bloemfontein.

"So he is telling us I feel 100 percent okay but his ligament is torn. So we strapped it as best we could.

"But the sharpness that is normally there wasn't there. The opponents also had a game plan, but I don't regret it," adds the Briton, was gracious after defeat in Polokwane on the weekend.
