Cape Town City players set for R2m bonus for Telkom Knockout cup win

Cape Town City boss John Comitis has confirmed that R2-million of the Telkom Knockout prize money will be shared by players.

The City Boyz have been given extra Christmas cheer after winning their maiden trophy for the newly formed club, beating SuperSport United 2-1 in the league cup final in Polokwane on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to KickOff.com after the match at the Peter Mokaba Satdium, Comitis confirmed that he will reward his players for their success throughout the tournament.

"It's fantastic. The boys played fantastic football and they really deserve [the R2-million]," said Comitis.

"The coach has worked so hard and when you see this kind of performance on the field, you have to be happy when they win," he added.
