Chippa United striker Lerato Manzini downplayed his recent goal against Kaizer Chiefs, saying it is his job to find the back of the net.
Manzini, Chippa's leading marksman with seven goals last term, struck in a 3-1 win over Chiefs at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic man has two goals this campaign, one less than namesake Rhulani and Thembinkosi Lorch at the top of United's scorers' list.
"I had an opportunity to start and score against Kaizer Chiefs in the MDC (Chippa won the game 1-0) the week before our game and that helped to boost my confidence," Manzini told his club's website.
“It was a good feeling to score but to be honest it is nothing special. It is my job as a striker to score goals. I always feel I can score goals, two or three in any game where I am given a chance. I do not set targets but I want to score every time I pull on the Chippa United jersey.
“I am always happy to contribute to the success of the team. The win on Saturday was for our supporters. We needed to bring back that smile and now we must build from this performance going forward.
“I would like to express my gratitude to my family, teammates and technical team for support in the past couple of weeks,” added Manzini.
