Lobi Stars have engaged James Peters, NFF's assistant Secretary General (Technical) to take charge of the team on a temporary basis, pending the appointment of a substantive coach.

Lobi, mired in the relegation scrap, fired coach Salisu Yusuf and his assistants last Thursday and played against Heartland with no coach.

Media Officer Bestman Joji told KickOffNigeria.com that the players picked the team that lost 1-3 to Heartland.

"The players drew up the line-up for the match against Heartland," Joji said. "Lobi is a big club and the players understood the situation. There is an understanding among them because of the situation and they did their best.

"We have engaged James Peters on a temporary basis, and he will be in charge this weekend.

"The time was too short between when the last coach was fired and our next game, so it was not possible to get a coach at that time."
