Robyn Johannes buoyed by Cape Town City dream run

Posted: 2 December 2016 Time: 22:34

Cape Town City defender Robyn Johannes expressed his delight at the team achieving their target during their trip to Johannesburg.

City stole a dramatic 3-2 win over Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Stadium on Friday evening, to follow on from their 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs in midweek.

Johannes revealed that their mandate for their back-to-back fixtures against Chiefs and Wits were to take home four points, and was pleased that they actually managed to pull it off at the last minute.

"It was a difficult game and we knew it would be, but our target was to come to Jo'burg to get four points and that's what we got, so job well done to the boys," the former national under-23 captain told SuperSport.

The 30-year-old centre-back quickly shifted focus to their next task, which is the Telkom Knockout final against SuperSport United next Saturday.

"We have to ride the wave that we are on now. Jo'burg is done so now we focus on the final next week, which is a huge opportunity for us to get silverware," he concluded.
