Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung is confident new signing Joseph Molangoane will add value at Naturena and expressed relief that he was able to secure his exit from Chippa United.

Chiefs on Friday announced Molangoane's capture on a two-and-a-half year deal.

The midfielder had to go via the PSL's Dispute Resolution Chamber to gain his release from Chippa, who plan to appeal the DRC's decision with SAFA.

"Molangoane is a very good footballer, a top-class player," Motaung told the club's website. "I think he will be a fantastic addition to the squad."

He added: "We are relieved that the matter that held up his transfer has finally been resolved through the PSL Disciplinary Resolution Chamber and he is free to join the club of his choice.

"We are delighted to finally welcome the player officially to the club. It’s a special moment for him and he deserves an opportunity to play football again.

"We have got a lot of fixtures coming up and we are going to need a deep squad of quality players for that, and we anticipate that Joseph will blend it nicely with his new teammates."
