Chippa United defender James Okwuosa says the team have to impose themselves at home, starting with Saturday's visit of Kaizer Chiefs.

The Chilli Boys are on an eight-match winless streak following their 1-1 draw with Maritzburg United on Tuesday, while Chiefs are likewise struggling as their winless run is at six games after a 1-1 stalemate with Cape Town City on the same night.

Okwuosa is naturally hopeful his side can turn things around against Amakhosi and rise from 11th place in the Absa Premiership standings.

"We have been trying to improve on each and every game we play. The spirit in the group remains high," Okwuosa said ahead of the 18h00 kick-off at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

"The league is a marathon but we also understand that we need to start collecting points, especially at home.

"We have set clear objectives of where want to be in May and we need to start winning games, no doubt about that. We must pick up the positives from our previous games including Maritzburg United.

"We would like to see the supporters coming once again in their numbers to rally behind the lads," concluded the Nigerian.
