Ea Lla Koto finally seal first win

Free State Stars secured their first Absa Premiership win of the season after beating fellow strugglers Platinum Stars 3-1 at Goble Park on Wednesday.

Mbuyiselo Thethani put Ea Lla Koto ahead in the 12th minute with a brilliant strike on his left foot.

The attacker controlled a headed clearance 25 yards out from goal, let the ball bounce once, and then unleashed a dipping volley into the bottom-right corner to give Steven Hoffman no chance.

Danny Venter made it 2-0 to the side from Bethlehem with a 79th minute goal and Thokozani Sekotlong made it 3-0 just a minute later for Giovanni Solinas' side.

Veteran frontman Henrico Botes got a consolation goal for Dikwena in the 87th minute but it was too little too late for Cavin Johnson's side, who have now lost three league games in a row.

Stars move off the foot of the table, a point ahead of Highlands Park, whose fixture against Bloemfontein Celtic was called off due to inclement weather in Tembisa.
