Brighton Mhlongo boost for Orlando Pirates ahead of Baroka FC clash

Posted: 30 November 2016 Time: 08:42

KickOff.com can reveal that Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo has recovered from his sickness and is back in contention for the number one jersey at Mayfair.

READ: Palacios not eyeing permanent post

Mhlongo missed the last three games for Pirates after picking up a stomach bug during Bafana Bafana's trip to Maputo for a friendly with Mozambique.

New signing Jackson Mabokgwane was consequently entrusted with guarding the Buccaneers goal.

However, Mhlongo is available again for tonight's Absa Premiership clash with Baroka FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Bucs interim coach Augusto Palacios will be without suspended left-back Thabo Matlaba as he goes in search of a third straight league win since taking over the reins from Muhsin Ertugral.

The Peruvian is expected to field Patrick Phungwayo in Matlaba's absence in Polokwane.
