SuperSport United striker Thabo Mnyamane's reaction to victory over Bidvest Wits

Posted: 29 November 2016 Time: 23:01

Man of the Match Thabo Mnyamane admits SuperSport United's 2-0 win over Bidvest Wits was not the greatest spectacle, but he was naturally pleased to collect three points.

United defeated their title rivals courtesy of second-half strikes from Clayton Daniels and Mnyamane at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday.

"It wasn't a beautiful game, it was a bit scrappy. But we will take the three points and go home with it," said Mnyamane, who has netted in his last four outings.

"We knew both teams wanted to get the three points, so we said you know what, it may not be beautiful, but we must just put in the hard work and the mighty God has provided."

He added: "It's very important to get positive results because we are contending for the league. Every point counts, so as a team, as a collective, you want to get maximum points from every game."

The result saw Matsatsantsa extend their unbeaten run to 13 games in all competitions and leaves them a point behind log leaders Cape Town City, who they will meet in the Telkom Knockout final on December 10.
