Ajax Cape Town's Travis Graham says Nathan Paulse is a warrior

Ajax Cape Town captain Travis Graham says veteran striker Nathan Paulse is "an incredible warrior" and asset to the team.

Paulse was back on the bench in Ajax's 3-2 win over Platinum Stars on Tuesday, having endured a spell on the sidelines with a fractured cheekbone.

Graham is impressed the 34-year-old targetman was willing to rush his return from injury for the Absa Premiership strugglers.

“He didn’t play due to safety reasons, but he was ready to risk it all for the team,” Graham told the club's website. “Nathan is an incredible warrior, even if he has suffered a big or small knock he will not sit out.

“He always gives his all for the team and we can always count on him to have our back. Nathan is vital to the team with his experience a key motivator. He has great advice for the youngsters and that is something you can’t replace.

“Nathan is a massive asset to the team and being able to call on him is a huge advantage and boost to all of us at the club.”

The Urban Warriors, who are second-from-bottom on the table with six points from 10 games, next host in-form champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday.
