Royal Eagles' Sedwyn George thrilled with brace against University of Pretoria

Golden Boot contender Sedwyn George was thrilled with his brace in Royal Eagles' 2-1 win over University of Pretoria in the NFD on Saturday.

George's double strike saw him join Thanda Royal Zulu's Mhlengi Cele at the top of the scoring charts with 12 goals apiece.

"I’m very ecstatic and we’ve gone number two now. Twelve goals and what more can I say, I can only thank the Lord," said George, whose side moved within three points of log leaders Thanda after the victory.

"But it was a good performance for the team and we capitalised and got the win at the end."

The former Maritzburg United man is grateful his goals are being appreciated by his club's fans.

"It is one of the ways I’m keeping them (the fans) happy and keeping them supporting the team at all times," he added.

Eagles next visit struggling AmaZulu at Princess Magogo Stadium on December 4.
