Cape Town City midfielder Roland Putsche said his team was highly motivated to reach the Telkom Knockout final after they dished out a 4-1 thumping on Free State Stars.
The Austrian was delighted to score his first goal for the club in the rout, as he took aim from the edge of the area and placed a composed shot into the bottom corner.
It had been a long time since Putcshe had scored in club football.
“It’s a long time ago [that I last scored], even last season I played a few games and was waiting all the time, I was sometimes close, and I’m very happy it happened now,” he said on SuperSport after the game.
“Everybody in the club is very happy, we wanted it and we showed that we really wanted to go to the final.
“The coach [Eric Tinkler] told us before the game that nobody cares who played the semi-final and I think that is true in some parts, everybody only knows the final game and now we will see what happens in the final.
“I hope in the future I’ll have many more but I’m really looking forward to this game.”
Cape Town City will face SuperSport United in the final after they beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 in Nelspruit in the other semi-final.
