Bafana Bafana have moved up two places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, placing them above Mali and Cameroon.
A 2-1 win over Senegal, coupled with a 1-1 draw against Mozambique, earlier this month has seen South Africa move up to 60th spot in the latest world rankings released by the world football governing body.
The jump sees Bafana move above the likes of Mali and Cameroon, who dropped three and six places respectively, and into 11th place on the continent.
2016 has since seen Bafana move a total of 14 spots up the rankings, having started the year in 74th place, and end with a record of five wins and seven draws in their 12 matches played.
Meanwhile, Senegal and Ivory Coast have dropped one and three places respectively, but remain first and second in Africa.
Globally, Argentina still top the rankings, while Brazil have leapfrogged Germany into second spot.
