SuperSport United midfielder Morne Nel practising patience

SuperSport United midfielder Morne Nel says he is ready for action again after recovering from a groin injury.

Nel, along with club teammates Tefu Mashamaite and Dean Furman, has been side-lined due to injury, and is yet to make a league appearance for the Pretoria club this season.

Yet the former Under-20 international has finally recovered and says he’s ready for action.

"I have been out with groin injury for about three weeks," Nel tells "It’s getting better slowly, but I have started training again.

"I am just waiting for the opportunity to arise and waiting for the coach to give me an opportunity. But it takes time and I must be patient,” he added.

Nel says he’s extremely grateful to Stuart Baxter for the impact he has made in his soccer career since arriving at Matsatsantsa last season.

"He is a great coach and has helped me a lot as a youngster,” he says. "Being part of his team is a great privilege and great honour.”

The 20-year-old who trained with Tottenham Hotspur last year says he still harbours hopes of earning a move overseas.

"At the moment I am not sure about the feedback [from Spurs], but it was a great experience going overseas, and hopefully I can go and get an opportunity there again,” he says. "I am just waiting for that that to happen - hopefully very soon.”
