Thabang Monare: Wits before individual glory

Bidvest Wits midfielder Thabang Monare has modestly brushed off a string of man-of-the-match awards, insisting the team's success is what matters most.
Monare won his third MOM prize of the season in Wits' 1-0 win over ten-man Platinum Stars at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.
The Secunda-born player appreciates the recognition but is giving little thought to the PSL's annual awards ceremony at this stage of the campaign.
"It's just about the team to me. As long as I help the team, that is all that matters," Monare tells KickOff.com.
"It's too early to say that [whether he could feature at the PSL awards] right now. There are a lot of good players in the league."
He adds: "It (MOM accolades) means a lot to me but the team is what matters the most. I'd rather get no man-of-the-match award the whole season but instead win all the games in a season."
The Students top the league standings with 19 points from seven games - two points ahead of Golden Arrows and Cape Town City, who have both played two more matches.
Gavin Hunt's men next host topflight rookies Highlands Park at Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday night.
