Ajax Cape Town in safe hands under Stanley Menzo's guidance says Mark Mayambela

Ajax Cape Town midfielder Mark Mayambela believes Stanley Menzo is the right man to heave the Urban Warriors off the bottom of the log.

The Dutch coach watched on as his charges fell to a last-gasp winner from Deolin Mekoa in a 2-1 home defeat to Maritzburg United this weekend.

Mayambela was named Man of the Match in the unsuccessful outing against the Team of Choice and explained that the side's fortunes would soon change under Menzo.

"The guys are starting to understand the coach's methods and way of play. It was evident against Maritzburg - as much as the results were negative there were a lot of positives," Mayambela tells KickOff.com.

"He is a great coach and wants the best out of us. He always wants us to improve and do better. He is a hard working coach and I am positive with him in charge we will turn the corner."

Ajax are set to visit Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng stadium tomorrow and Mayambela is confident that his team will turn the tide and starting get positive results.

"We all know our position and we're not at all happy about it but we're working hard at training to turn things around and I think we're in touching distance to achieve what we want," he said.
