Kristopher Bergman backs Chippa United revival against Cape Town City

Posted: 18 November 2016 Time: 08:20

Chippa United defender Kristopher Bergman is confident the Chilli Boys can end a lean run of form against Cape Town City at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.

Chippa started the season promisingly but a five-match winless streak in all competitions leaves them in mid-table with nine points from seven matches - five points shy of fifth-placed City.

"We used the FIFA break to improve in particular how we defend," Bergman told the club's website.

"We have also had challenges at the final third, and I am confident that we can turn things around starting against Cape Town City this coming weekend.

“We set clear objectives before the start of the season, and in line with our theme we aim for continuous improvement. We have not been doing well in the past couple weeks, but we still believe that we can make this a season to remember. It is encouraging to see the support we have been receiving from the supporters.”

Meanwhile, the right-back, who spent last term on loan at Cape Town All Stars, feels United have improved their professionalism.

“Things are lot more organised here which is a sign of growth itself. I also look at the technical team we have from a coaching and medical perspective, a lot has changed around here for the better.”
