Gavin Hunt will have the final say on whether to sign full-back Siboniso Gaxa when the player ends his contract dispute with Kaizer Chiefs.

Gaxa is training with with Wits while he waits in the Premier Soccer League to announce the outcome of his DRC case against Chiefs.

The 32-year-old as released by AmaKhosi at the end of last season, but the player claims he still has a valid contract with the club.

Gaxa is seeking compensation, but whichever way the PSL rules, his time at Naturena appears up and unless the matter is heard on appeal, he will be a free agent.

Wits director George Mogotsi has told KickOff.com that if Hunt sees a place for Gaxa in his squad, the player will be signed.

"He is just training. The coach is the one who invited him to come and train with the team. But if he [Hunt] wants him we'll definitely sign him," Mogotsi said.

Gaxa featured for Wits in the Gauteng Champions of Champions friendly tournament that was played on Sunday.
