SAFA set to deal with Tokelo Rantie issue

SAFA are set to confirm any charges against runaway Bafana Bafana striker Tokelo Rantie this week, as soon as officials return to office from Maputo, Mozambique.
Rantie was axed from the national team camp for World Cup qualifiers last month after failing to report for duty and an investigation into his disappearance is ongoing.
The incident came as a surprise to many since the Genclerbirligi forward is usually a guaranteed starter under now-suspended head coach Shakes Mashaba.
According to Mashaba, the 26-year-old played hide and seek with Bafana team manager Barney Kujane ahead of the October trip to Burkina Faso, eventually agreed to join his teammates, but then failed to turn up on time and was without a visa.
“We will sit down as soon as we are back in the office and confirm any [possible] charges against Tokelo Rantie [if any], the issue will be resolved as soon as possible,” SAFA head of communications Dominic Chimhavi tells KickOff.com.
Eleazar Rodgers, Sibusiso Vilakazi, Bradley Grobler and Netherlands-born Lars Veldwijk have been operating up front in his absence.
Most recently Rodgers led the line in the 2-1 victory over Senegal last Saturday while Grobler scored in a 1-1 friendly draw in Mozambique on Tuesday night.
