Lerato Lamola back for Golden Arrows, Lehlohonolo Nonyane still a doubt

Golden Arrows welcome back Lerato Lamola ahead of this weekend’s league match against Highlands Park, while left-back Lehlohonolo Nonyane’s return remains in the balance.
Both players suffered injuries in last month’s Absa Premiership win over Chippa United and have not featured since, though Lamola is set to mark his return against the Lions of the North on Sunday.
“I think Lamola will be back, but Nonyane will be touch and go,” coach Clinton Larsen tells KickOff.com. “Lamola is training with the team now and he’s back in full training.
“He has been back for the last couple of days, and we are very happy with his return.”
Abafana Bes’Thende enjoyed a solid start to the season, and currently lie fourth in the standings with 14 points from their opening eight fixtures. Yet the KwaZulu-Natal club have failed to win in their last three matches, losing two and drawing the other.
Larsen remains unconcerned however, and is delighted that his side are just two points off leaders Bidvest Wits [who however have two games in hand].
“We only lost once in our last six games, which was Platinum Stars - that is our only loss in our last six [league] matches,” he said.
“We only lost in the first game of the league and again now against Platinum Stars. So we are still in a good space and only two points behind the league leaders.
“If someone would have offered us that before the league started and said after eight games you will be sitting two points behind the league leaders, we would have taken it. It is exactly where we are through the hard work we put in.”
Arrows will be without the services of Kagisho Dikgacoi and Nkanyiso Ngwengwe on Sunday following their respective dismissals against Dikwena last time out.
