Bidvest Wits striker James Keene remains uncertain on his return to fitness, but is grateful for the support that he has been getting from the club.
Keene underwent surgery on his troublesome knee during the off-season, and has yet to recieve the go-ahead almost four months later.
The 30-year-old English frontman was not registered by the Clever Boys at the beginning of the season, but remains upbeat over his chances of a return in the near future.
“I am taking it day by day because there is no [recovery] time-line with this injury,” Keene tells KickOff.com.
“I had a knee operation while I was back in Sweden during the off-season, and I have been going through the process of recovering.
"Slowly but surely I am getting back there and I just need to be professional about it. I am doing some work on the pitch now and the club has been fantastic.
"We have a great medical team here at the club, that has been doing a great job with me as I work my way back and I am happy.”
The Portsmouth youth product joined Wits at the beginning of the year, and has since managed eight goals in 12 starts in all competitions.
