Royal Eagles’ leading striker Sedwyn George insists his focus remains on doing his job at his club despite his sensational scoring form attracting interest from PSL clubs.
George has scored nine goals in five starts and two substitute appearances so far this season, and is the First Division's second top goalscorer behind Thanda Royal Zulu's Mhlengi Cele.
Such has been George’s incredible form that he netted four times in one game, before he struck a hat-trick in another and then a brace most recently, in their 4-2 win over Milano United.
Two PSL clubs are believed to be already tracking his progress, but the Pietermaritzburg-born attacker downplays such talks and insists his focus lies solely on his duty for Eagles.
“My mind is just on doing the job of scoring goals for my team. That is what l am employed to here at the club and if ever what I am doing gets noticed elsewhere my club and my agent (Russell Louise of the Players’ Hub Sports Management) will deal with that ,” he tells KickOff.com.
The towering forward had previously been on the books of ABC Motsepe League club Friends FC, and spent time on trial at Maritzburg United but wasn’t brought in due to his lanky frame.
This website has been told that he is in the last year of his contract with Eagles, though he has an option of another year.
He has also previously played in the South African national FUTSAL team.
