Mamelodi Sundowns' Pitso Mosimane gets behind Sibusiso Vilakazi after Telkom Knockout loss to SuperSport United

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has faith Sibusiso Vilakazi will rediscover the form that made him the PSL Footballer of the Season in 2013/14.

Vilakazi, a big-name signing from Bidvest Wits in July, is yet to hit top gear at Chloorkop, and was among the players that missed a penalty in the 3-1 shootout loss to SuperSport United in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals on Saturday.

However, Mosimane pointed out the club took a long-term view when capturing the signature of the 26-year-old Bafana Bafana attacker.

"When you bring a new player into the team, you need to nurture them," said Mosimane.

"You need to make sure you support them and the best time to support is during days like this.

"Imagine you don't show support to 'Vila', then you are killing the boy. You need to support him and tell him we didn't buy you for one match or one year. We bought him for the next three to four years."
