Mamelodi Sundowns new signing Thapelo Morena has accepted that he will have to remain patient in order to grow into a success at the Chloorkop-based club.
Morena joined the African champions midway through August, after graduating through the Bloemfoentein Celtic youth system and into the first team.
The 23-year-old opted for greener pastures despite the wealth of talent at Sundowns, and has since been used sparingly by coach Pitso Mosimane.
Morena, however, insists he is not discouraged by his lack of action, and says he has been urged to stay on his toes and wait for the right time, which could come at any moment.
"I'm willing to be patient because I know that I will get my chance," he tells KICK OFF Magazine. "The coach has told me I must keep working the way I have been all along and wait for the right time.
"Yet, at the same time, he has drummed it into me that I must always be ready for anything."
The Randfontein-born midfielder can take a leaf from teammate Percy Tau's booklet, and also revealed the advice he recieved from his late mother.
"I understand I will have to be patient and I will wait. My late mother used to say to me, 'be patient, compete to the best fo your abilities so that you can be the best.' Those words always motivates me," he added.
