Bafana Bafana newcomer Lars Veldwijk has received his paperwork and is eligible to make his debut against Senegal in a World Cup qualifier in Polokwane on November 12.
The Belgium-based 25-year-old, who was born in Holland but has a South African father, received his maiden international call-up on October 27.
SAFA president Danny Jordaan has confirmed the 1.96m hitman has since obtained his South African passport.
"We are playing qualification against Senegal which is the big challenge for us and you may has seen that Lars Veldwijk is in the team now. He of course indicated his desire to play for South Africa," said Jordan earlier this week during a visit to SAFA technical director Neil Tovey, who is recovering at home from a heart-attack.
"We sorted out his passport so he will be ready to play in Polokwane. There are other indicators that he wants to play for Bafana, which I think will give us at least options for Shakes Mashaba. Ultimately it was his (Mashaba’s) decision to include him or not to include him."
Sibusiso Vilakazi, Eleazar Rodgers and Bradley Grobler are the other strikers in Mashaba's squad.
