SuperSport United midfielder Cole Alexander is wary of the threat of a "new look" Orlando Pirates under new coach Muhsin Ertigral when they clash tonight.
Matsatsantsa a Pitori will host the Buccaneers in an Absa Premiership clasg at their alternative home venue Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit this evening (19h30).
The 27-year-old former Ajax Cape Town and Polokwane City anchorman says they will have to be at their absolute best if they are to hand Pirates their first league defeat of the season.
“Both coaches are very experienced and very tactical,” said Alexander. “Pirates have a new look in terms of their players, but have still been doing well under Muhsin Ertugral.
"They are a very difficult team to break down. They are defensively very compact and disciplined.
"Their transition from defence to attack is also very quick. One can see Ertugral’s influence and that they are gelling well.
"We will have to execute our game plan to perfection to get the better of them, and it’s definitely not going to be a stroll in the park."
Alexander, who is rediscovering his form after being plagued by an ankle injury, also says he still harbours ambitions to return to the national team.
“I'm working extremely hard for my club with the hope that I impress the national coach," he added.
"I feel I have a lot to offer the team as I haven’t really featured prominently. That’s my goal – to wear the national jersey again with pride."
