SA players abroad: Erasmus, Jali, Mahlangu, Mokotjo, Ndlovu, Patosi, Rantie, Serero, Singh, Veldwijk

Kermit Erasmus and Bafana Bafana newcomer Lars Veldwijk saw some game-time in Europe on the weekend, but Andile Jali, Thulani Serero and Bongani Zungu remain on the sidelines.

KERMIT ERASMUS
After making a start for French Ligue 1 side Rennes in the Cup last week, Erasmus came off the bench for the final 15 minutes of Sunday’s 1-0 home win over Metz.

ANDILE JALI
Jali has missed the last two games for Belgian side KV Oostende, a worry ahead of his return to the national team squad for the World Cup qualifier against Senegal in under two weeks.

MAY MAHLANGU
Mahlangu came off the bench for the last 15 minutes for Romanian side Dinamo Bucharest as they drew 2-2 with Astra Giurgiu on Sunday.

KAMOHELO MOKOTJO

Mokotjo played for Dutch side FC Twente in their 0-0 draw with Roda JC on Friday.

LEBOGANG MOTHIBA
Mothiba made the bench for French Ligue 1 side Lille for the first time in their clash with Paris St Germain, but did not make it on to the pitch. It is still a big step forward for the South African junior international.

DINO NDLOVU
Ndlovu played for Azerbaijan side Qarabağ in their 1-0 win over AZAL on Saturday that moves them into second in the league.

AYANDA PATOSI
Bafana star Patosi came on for the final three minutes of Lokeren’s 2-2 away draw with Eupen.

LEBOGANG PHIRI
Phiri played for Danish side Brondby as they won 2-0 at home to Aalborg. They remain second in the league.

STEVEN PIENAAR
Pienaar played the first 70 minutes for Sunderland as their woeful season continued with 4-1 home loss to Arsenal.

BRADLEY RALANI
Ralani scored for struggling Swedish side Helsingborg as they beat Falkenberg 4-1 to avoid slipping into the relegation zone. They could yet do that in next weekend’s final round of matches.

ZAMA RAMBUWANE
Rambuwane came on at the break fro Israeli side Hapoel Ra’anana as they drew 0-0 at home with MS Ashdod.

TOKELO RANTIE
Rantie played the final two minutes for Turkish side Genclerbirligi in their 1-1 draw with giants Besiktas.

THULANI SERERO
Serero remains sidelined at Ajax, where he has not been given a jersey number this season.

LUTHER SINGH
Singh played in the 1-0 home loss Dalkurd on Friday as his Swedish side face a mid-table finish this year in the second division.

JOEL UNTERSEE
Untersee played for Serie B side Brescia in their 4-0 away loss to Entella.

LARS VELDWIJK
New Bafana call-up Veldwijk came on for the final few minutes for Kortrijk in their 1-0 away win over Royal Excelsior Mouscron.

BONGANI ZUNGU

Still no sign of Zungu for Portuguese top-flight side Vitoria Guimaraes.
