SuperSport United moved up to fourth place on the Absa Premiership table after a comfortable 2-0 win over Ajax Cape Town at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.
Without Roger de Sa following his resignation earlier this week and with new coach Stanley Manzo not yet ready to take charge of his first match, Mich D'Avray led the team from the dugout.
But struggling Ajax continued to err and gave away a penalty in the first few minutes. Mosa Lebusa handled in the area and Jeremy Brockie gave SuperSport the lead, making no mistake from the penalty spot.
Stuart Baxter's side controlled the rest of the first half as Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Cole Alexander dominated the midfield battle, with the Urban Warriors' best chance being a shot from Erwin Isaacs that brought a good save out of Ronwen Willians.
Brockie was unlucky not to get his second goal just before the hour-mark when he rattled the woodwork as Matsatsantsa continued to keep the home side at bay.
The Urban Warriors pushed the ball around but were unable to create any clear scoring chances in the second half and as they tried to push for an equaliser in the 91st minute, Letsholonyane robbed their defence high up the pitch and finished the job for SuperSport, rounding Jody February and finishing on his left foot.
