Golden Arrows' marquee signing Kagisho Dikgacoi is eager to play but still lacks fitness, according to coach Clinton Larsen.
Arrows on Friday confirmed the capture of Dikgacoi, as revealed by KickOff.com two days earlier.
Larsen, however, explained why the ex-Bafana Bafana midfielder sat out the 2-1 loss at Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout yesterday.
"Dikgacoi is eager to play but he's not match fit," Larsen said.
"He's working hard and we'll see how ready he is. His attitude is excellent."
'KG' penned terms with his former club after a training stint in Durban, having left Cardiff City in England as a free agent in the off-season.
Meanwhile, Larsen gave credit to Bucs, who also beat Abafana Bes'thende 3-1 in the league on the opening day of the season.
"I must commend Pirates. They played with more intensity today than in other games this season.
"The boys are proud of their performance today so it won't be too hard to pick them up for the next game," said Larsen, who was especially impressed with Mpho Makola's opener for Bucs at Orlando Stadium.
