Lucky Baloyi: Kaizer Chiefs meant business in Macufe Cup, focused on Ajax Cape Town

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lucky Baloyi says the team meant business in the Macufe Cup and insists they are highly focused for Saturday's clash with Ajax Cape Town.

The Soweto giants claimed Macufe Cup honours for the first time in five years with a 4-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at Free State Stadium this past weekend.

“We were really hungry, we went there to do the business,” Baloyi told his club's website. “We were very determined to get our hands on the trophy.”

The Absa Premiership leaders next face Ajax in the league at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with kick-off set for 18h00.

“We have been preparing hard for this game,” Baloyi said. “Ajax have an intelligent coach in Roger de Sa. We need to be ready.”

The former Moroka Swallows midfielder also welcomed his club's decision to stage three games in Durban this season.

“We really look forward to mix again with our supporters there. They are always great and that’s another reason why we will travel to Durban determined to make our supporters happy. This means that we want to win.”

Amakhosi have 10 points from five games - eight points more than the 13th-placed Urban Warriors.
